Time and Place
I figure it’s about time I told you more about my pans for the layout - ie. the region and time span.
I’ve spent most of my life living near Southampton so there will definitely be a southern region influence including 33s, 73s and not to mention thumpers and third rail EMUs. The timespan will be pure nostalgia for my teenage years watching trains in the eighties.
So the chief focus will be on blue and blue-grey boxes with perhaps a litte bit of sectorisation thrown in - NetWork Southeast and Railfreight liveries.
However I don’t like to restrict myself too tightly as regards period, stock or liveries. Anything which I like the look of will probably appear at some point, which basically means anything from the eighties, any diesel or electric prior to the eighties and probably the occasional kettle.
About the only things I’m not interested in are foreign stock and anything from the nineties privatisation era onwards. Not that I’ll make even that a firm rule, just in case someone catches be running one of the lovely class 66s from either Dapol of Farish.
